Here at Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery we are all big lovers of Latisse. In fact almost our entire staff of Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Marketers and front office staff use it and love it. We recommend Latisse to many of our friends, family members and patients because we want them to fall as deeply and madly in love with Latisse, as we are. So now you ask, what in the world is Latisse? Well, Latisse is the only FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (having inadequate or not enough eyelashes) used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Pretty cool, huh?

Next question on your list is probably, how soon will I see results? Latisse provides gradual results. In the clinical trial users saw significant improvement by 2 months. Many of our patients continue to see results and see their best results after 4 months.

Now comes to the answer to your question about applying Latisse and the routine. Latisse is simple to apply and takes less time than brushing your teeth. Simply wash your face of all make-up, remove your contacts and before you go to bed, apply Latisse. To apply Latisse: simply drop a drop of the Latisse Solution on to an included brush and swipe across your eyelid (where you apply eyeliner) and then do the same for the other eye. VIOLA! You are finished with your Latisse routine!

There are a few possible side effects that are important to discuss with Latisse. The most common are eye itching and eye redness, these were reported by about 4% of patients in the clinical trials. Latisse solution may cause other less common side effects, which occur on the skin close to where Latisse is applied. These include: skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness or redness of the eyelids.

My experience with Latisse has absolutely blown me away.. the results are better than I had imagined! At this point, I can hardly imagine how short and thin my eyelashes were before I started the process and I definitely wouldn’t be able to go back! Although my eyelashes have grown tremendously, they still look so natural. Before I started Latisse I was always envious of others who had thick and long lashes, now people give me compliments on my eyes all the time! My eyes pop more and experimenting with eye makeup is so fun more fun because I really feel like you notice the look – it’s the lashes that finish off the look to perfection! I have been able to tell so many friends about the product and my experience with Atlanta Dermatology and Laser surgery. Some people are hesitant to try it out and invest in the product but when they take a look at my results, they can really see the value!

Happy New Year everyone! 2012 is finally here (yes, I do realize I am a couple months belated..) and it's the perfect time to start using Latisse. I am so thrilled by my final results and I am constantly getting compliments on how long and full my eye lashes are. Since I've now been using Latisse since July my eyelashes are at their fullest potential. My fullest potential has proved to impress me, I had no idea my eyelashes were capable of being this long and full. The best part is now that I've been using Latisse for a while I am able to only apply Latisse a few times a week and still keep my beautiful lashes. I have completed my four months of Latisse. I can’t believe my eyelashes! I would have never imagined that I could have long, thick eyelashes, but I do! It is so cool to have my family and friends tell me that they can really see a big difference. I even had a friend notice them from across the table while we were having lunch. When I wear my sunglasses, my lashes actually touch them. I have to pull my sunglasses out a little to keep them from touching. Using Latisse is something that I have not grown tired of doing. It has become a part of my nightly routine. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants longer eyelashes to definitely try Latisse. I tried it and I am so glad I did!

The Best 3 Month Relationship I've Ever Had...

Well, I'm happy to announce that my love affair is still going strong, in fact.. I'm even thinking of making things permanent.... with Latisse I mean. I am so amazed by how beautiful my eyelashes have gotten since starting Latisse, just 3 months ago. Prior to using Latisse, my eyelashes were so bright blond, short and fragile.. I had to put on so much mascara just to make it look like I had lashes. Today, I am happy to announce that my eyelashes are perfect. It's hard being known as the girl with the most perfect eyelashes in the world, but someone has got to do it, right? But really... my eyelashes have gotten darker, thicker, stronger and best of all, longer.

I cannot even count the amount of times I get asked on a weekly basis if I am wearing fake eyelashes, I always smile, because first of all.. I love talking about my eyelashes & second of all I get to tell them "No, these are my eyelashes, thanks to Latisse!" I was super skeptical of Latisse before I started it because I have really light skin & light eyes, so I was nervous about what could happen, I'm happy to report, I've had no bad side effects and I am a very happy Latisse user. I recommend Latisse to everyone and have gotten my friends and family members, hooked! Having beautiful eyelashes makes you feel so much better about yourself and best of all, helps women with the ever tough dilemma of deciding whether to leave the house without mascara on. Three Months of Latisse with Laura

Three months in and I have the most amazing, healthy eyelashes! They are incredible. I have had people ask me if my eyelashes are real even when I don't have on mascara. For Halloween this year it was the first time that I did not have to purchase the dreadful glue on lashes. The best part about my long, dark lashes is that I don't feel like I absolutely have to put on mascara to leave the house real quick. The compliments keep pouring in, everyone wants to know how to have lashes as long as mine-- Thank you Latisse and Atlanta Dermatology and laser Surgery. I have gotten to the point where I am not using Latisse everyday, my application routine has stayed the same, I just skip a day or two between applications. I still have zero side affects, but my lashes continue to grow and darken. I love my eyelashes!

I have been using Latisse for 3 months now and I am amazed at how long my lashes have gotten. I use Latisse at night and it is so easy, I haven’t missed a night! 2-Month Check-in with Cass!

When I went to Atlanta Dermatology for my 2-month follow up, I was completely in shock by how long my lashes have gotten! After I saw the before and after pictures from months 1 and 2 I could see the vast difference. But it's not just me seeing the difference, it's people everywhere. Of course my family but I thought they were just being nice and saying they looked longer and darker and lusher to make me feel great. In the check-out line at my local pharmacy this week when I was picking up some medicine, the lady in front of me kept starring at me and finally I asked if I could help her? She said, "Yes, actually you can! Your lashes are amazing. They're so long and dark (yes, those were her EXACT WORDS!) Then she asked what brand mascara I used. I told what brand. But then I preceded to tell her that I wasn't wearing any at the moment and she didn't believe me and then got uncomfortably close to my face :). Then I told her about Latisse and Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery and what a difference they had done for me and she should try them out too!

I am so excited about the next 2 months! I don't know how they can get any longer or thicker but if they do, which of course I wouldn't mind, it's going to look like I have falsies in! Which will be even more amazing and probably lead to more uncomfortable encounters at the pharmacy.

An Interview with Juliena Gigon, PA-C

Juliena has been with Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery since 2010. As one of the Physician Assistants for the practice Juliena sees patients for Dermatological needs but also does Cosmetic procedures including: Exilis, Laser Hair Removal and is the CoolSculpting Team Leader for the practice. She is originally from Pensacola, Florida but moved to Atlanta in 2010 after accepting her job here. Juliena has her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama and her Bachelors degree in Biology from Elon University where she played division-1 volleyball. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Why did you decide to become a PA?: Growing up I always had an interest in medicine and taking care of people. I did a lot of volunteering growing up, even in high school I was a candy striper so I had always known I wanted to do something where I could help other people and also be around my passion for the medical field.

Why did you decide to work in Dermatology?: During one of my PA school rotations I got to do a lot of work with skin cancer removal and reconstructive surgery; that helped to spark my interest in Dermatology. I also have always had an interest in cosmetic procedures as well, so Dermatology was perfect for merging my interests.

What has been your favorite part about working at Atlanta Dermatology & Laser Surgery?: Dr. Cooper enjoys staying current and relevant with new procedures both dermatological and cosmetic therefore, I have enjoyed learning the most up-to-date procedures that are out. The staff of Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery are also very friendly and always willing to help which has made my experience here extremely enjoyable.

What has surprised you about working in a Dermatology/Cosmetic office?: I have been really surprised by all the procedures that can be preformed to slow down the aging process and enhance natural beauty-- it's amazing to me just how much can be done with technology today.

What are your interests outside of the office?: My interests including staying active, I enjoy going to the gym, playing tennis and taking spin class. I enjoy staying current on medical trends by reading medical journals. I also love to travel, I would love to visit every country in the world and have already started my journey as I've visited: Italy, France, the Caribbean, Belgium and Austria, so far (I've got a lot of ground to cover).

Hello everyone! I am so excited about the progress on the growth of my eyelashes! I have seen major growth over the past month and have gotten several compliments from friends and family! It had been a couple weeks since I saw my Mom last and when I saw her last week she was in total aw at the results. She said that my lashes look fuller, thicker and even darker. The combination makes my eyes so much more noticeable which is exactly what I wanted out of the product. I have literally been flooded me with compliments and have had the opportunity to encourage friends who want these results to look into trying it themselves!

My routine has stayed the same since starting Latisse. I apply the product after cleansing my face at night, go to sleep and let it work! I use one drop for both eyes, I swipe the application brush just over my top lashes. I have absolutely zero side effects which was a concern of mine from the beginning, but I am happy to say that everything is completely normal with my eyes. Wow, I can't believe how much my eyelashes have grown! It's amazing! I have been getting compliments from all my friends and co-workers on how long my lashes are.

I was always "religious" about making sure I always had mascara on and when I say mascara on, I mean a TON of it, to make it look like I had lashes. Now, I can put a lot less mascara on and my lashes look amazing.

Putting Latisse on has become a simple bedtime ritual for me and it's something I look forward to because I know the difference it's going to make on my lashes. I just took my 2-month follow-up photos today and I literally screamed (and I wouldn't lie to you if I told you I fell out of my chair, because I did) with excitement and delight at how different my lashes look compared to last month. I love Latisse and have been encouraging all of my friends to buy it as I know am officially addicted to it!

The trouble that I have been running into is that the mascara I use is very flaky and my lashes are getting so long that when my lashes hit my cheek the mascara flakes off, so I've got to look into some new mascara (not really a bad problem).

I cannot believe I still have 2-months left of using the Latisse and my lashes growing, I can't even imagine how much longer they could get. Stay tuned to see my lashes grow and my excitement shoot through the roof!

Wow! I can tell such a big difference in my eyelashes! I have been using Latisse for a couple of months now and boy, are my lashes growing! They are getting longer and are actually curling! I have had friends and family tell me that they can definitely see the difference! They are not as thick as I would like but I have been told that they will get thicker. I have had no side effects whatsoever! I have been very pleased so far and I am so excited to continue this journey!

Mackenzie's one month with Latisse!

Well it has been one month since I started my Latisse Challenge and to be honest the most challenging part for me has been remembering to wash my face at night and put my Latisse on. Using Latisse itself is the easy part, it's prying myself off the couch at night to swipe on the Latisse that's been my biggest struggle! However, I've been doing it and I have really noticed a difference.

My lashes are feeling stronger and what I'm really seeing a difference in is the amount of eyelashes I have. Using Latisse is really simple and I am trying to just get myself into a little routine of taking out my contacts, washing my face and eye make up off and then I grab the Latisse bottle and put a drop on each brush and just swipe it across my lash line, pretty easy huh?

I am really excited to keep seeing how my lashes grow. Full results take about 4 months, so I've got lots of improvement to be made, but I am really excited to see my lashes in 3 months! Everyone I work with at Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery that uses Latisse have the most beautiful long lashes, so, naturally I want those too!

One month of Latisse with Tammy Goolsby

I just finished my first month of treatment with Latisse. My lashes appear to be slightly thicker and somewhat darker. I have had a little bit of itching on my eyelids but nothing too bad. It is more of a nuisance than anything. I have changed my makeup remover and that seems to have helped. I apply Latisse every night around 8:00 after dinner. I take my contacts out and wash off my makeup. I put it on both eyes and then go sit and watch TV or read. I have found that my eye lids are completely dry from the medicine being applied by the time I go to bed. Applying Latisse has become a part of my daily routine. I believe I am about to enter the time when I will really begin to see a big difference in my lashes! I am so excited!

I have just finished up my first month of using Latisse. I went in to get my next kit today and my lashes are defintely getting darker and stronger since I started using it! It's so easy to use. After showering and taking my make-up off and before going to bed I simply take one drop of Latisse and put it on the brush and swipe it across my top eyelid just like I would eyeliner. One Month of Latisse with Laura Peacock

I have been using Latisse for about a Month and am very impressed with the progress so far. I can tell that my lashes are a much thicker and have lengthened a bit too. I used to use an eyelash curler to help my eyelashes become more noticeable but now that they have thickened up, I don’t need to curl them anymore!

It has been simple to add Latisse into my nightly routine. I cleanse my face as normal and add 1 drop to my lashes – I can tell that the Latisse is on there, but there is no irritation or discomfort. I am absolutely enjoying my experience with Latisse so far and am excited to see the results continue!

Hi everyone! I'm Mackenzie Stratton, I am 22 (almost 23) and work as the Marketing Manager for Atlanta Dermatology & Laser Surgery. As the previous blog post mentioned we have started the Latisse Challenege! Myself (serving as the office representative) and three of our Facebook fans and patients: Laura, Tammy & Cass are all trying out Latisse for four months and monitoring the growth of our lashes, and reporting it right back here to you!

I have been working for Atlanta Dermatology & Laser Surgery since January. I started here right after I graduated college from Georgia Southern University in December 2010, with a Bachelors of Science in Public Relations. While in college I attended many GSU Football games (Go Eagles!) and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gammma sorority. I was born and raised in a town in Virginia right outside of Washington, D.C. My decision to go to college down south was a big shock for my parents, but I have never looked back & love the city of Atlanta!

I just got back from a 2-week vacation to Europe and as soon as I got back from my trip I started using Latisse. I started my first Latisse Kit on July 24th and I will check back every month with my progress photos of how my lashes are doing! I am really excited to grow longer, thicker and darker eyelashes. I have such fair skin and light hair, naturally, that you cannot see my eyes at all without make-up. Hi Everyone! We are excited to announce the Latisse Challenge. For the month of June we were encouraging our Facebook users to comment on why they'd want to win Latisse. Hey Everyone! I'm Mackenzie Stratton. I just graduated college from Georgia Southern University (Go Eagles!) in December 2010 where I was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. I am a Northern Virginia native, growing up in a "small" town just outside Washington D.C., but fell in love with life in the south as soon as I moved to Statesboro for College in August of 2006. Therefore, right after college I moved to Atlanta, Georgia and I instantly fell in LOVE with the city! From there I was privileged to be hired as Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery's Marketing Manager.

Some of the coolest things I have gotten to do since working at this office has involved the new CoolSculpting machine my friends and family members hear me talking about non-stop. Since working at Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery, I've been able to host several events where we highlighted some of our favorite procedures! I have also been able to work with/talk on two radio stations (listen to the radio spots by clicking these links): Dave FM and The Bull Atlanta about CoolSculpting and our office. I also had such a fun time working with DaveFM's Crash Clark as he decided to get CoolSculpting at our office too! Check out his videos of before, during and after his treatments!

As CoolSculpting at Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery has been a huge success, I felt I should try what everyone has been talking about! So on February 7, 2011, I decided I would give it a go! As today is now May 26th, 2011 I have seen AMAZING results! My clothes fit better and my before and after pictures "WOWed" me! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. CoolSculpting is a really easy process and my favorite part is that you can go back to your regular activities right after the procedure is done. Check out me demonstrating the below:

Before CoolSculpting begins, Michele the Laser Technician or one of Physician Assistants, Fair or Juliena will measure the area you desire to treat to properly fit you for the right suction head. Then before the suction head is applied a gel pad is placed on your skin to protect your skin from the freezing process. The gel pad is very cold. I was pretty surprised but you get used to it quickly. Then the suction head is applied and during this you feel a strong pull.

Now that the suction has been turned on the tissue has been drawn into the headpiece. Danielle, one of Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery's nurses is explaining to me what to expect once she turns on the freeze cycle.

Now Danielle is turning on the freezing cycle of the procedure. The freezing cycle will last for one hour and during this process the fat cells in the suction head will crystallize and then die off, which is what causes the decrease in the bulge. After about 7 minutes as I was getting used to the feeling of the CoolSculpting procedure I was able to fully and completely relax! I did some paperwork for work, watched some YouTube videos on my iPhone and even called my mom mid-treatment to tell her what I was doing at work!

After the hour is over, Danielle is beeped by a pager that signals that the treatment has ended or the patient needs assistance. Michele our Laser Technician or a nurse that is helping Michele will wear a pager during the treatment and if you need anything from water to a magazine you can simply hit a call button and they will instantly be there to help you (is that good service or what?). After my treatment ended Danielle pulled the suction head off. When the suction head is removed the treated area looks like a frozen stick of butter (it was pretty crazy) and it feels like a frozen ice pack! Immediately after the suction head was removed, Danielle began to massage my treated area for about 5 minutes. Massaging the area causes the crystallized fat cells to break up even more (it also gets rid of that frozen stick of butter look). After your 5 minute massage you are able to get dressed and get on with the rest of your day or you can even begin another treatment! Many people will treat their abdomen and both love handles in one day and spend three hours with us!

CoolSculpting Success

A few months ago Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery paired up with Atlanta's Radio Station: DaveFM 92.9. Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery treated radio D.J. Crash Clark to some CoolSculpting treatments to remove his unwanted fat bulges and love handles. Crash finished his second cycle of CoolSculpting treatments yesterday and is very excited about the results he has seen so far. We have been documenting Crash's experience with CoolSculpting through videos and will post his before and after pictures in July.

CoolSculpting results are gradual and take about 2-4 months to see completely. Crash started his treatments in January and had his second round of treaments in March/April, we are all so excited to see how great he looks after the results are in full!

Maria L. won a free CoolSculpting package from the DaveFM "Valentine's Day Sucks" contest. Maria sent in pictures of her lovehandles and was chosen to have the procedure done. Maria really enjoyed her treatment and will be coming in next month to take her after photos.

On Friday, March 11, 2011 Atlanta Dermatology and Laser Surgery launched their brand-new CoolSculpting machine by hosting an Open House. Guests from all over the metro-Atlanta area attended the event and came to learn about CoolSculpting by Zeltiq.
